We take claims about metabolic health that are circulating widely, trace them back to the research, and tell you what the evidence actually supports.
Every piece here carries a verdict. Where the science is settled, we say so. Where researchers genuinely disagree, we show the disagreement rather than picking the tidier answer, and we tell you what kind of evidence a conclusion rests on so you can weigh it yourself.
How we reach those verdicts is set out in our editorial standards.

Does eating late at night really ruin your metabolism?
Verdict: no. The same food doesn’t count for more after dark, though eating late does make you hungrier, which is a different problem. Night shift workers are the exception.
This page will grow. If there’s a claim you keep encountering and want examined, tell us what it is and where you saw it.
